Getting started

Print from phones and tablets (upload and sharing)

Upload documents in the web app, or install Sealed Print as an app and share files to it from any other app.

Phones and tablets cannot add a printer URL: iOS and Android only find network printers in the local network. On these devices you print through the web app instead, either by uploading a file in the queue or, on Android, by sharing it from any app to the installed Sealed Print app. Both work on computers too.

Prerequisites

  • A Sealed Print account and a browser. Included in every plan.
  • The inbound channels Web upload and Share from your phone are on. Both are on by default; admins find them under Settings → Inbound channels.
  • Files in PDF, JPEG or PNG format. Images are converted to PDF automatically. The maximum size depends on the plan (at most 50 MB).
  • Sharing from other apps works with Chrome and Edge on Android, Windows, macOS and Linux. iOS does not support sharing to web apps yet; use the upload there.

One-time setup

Upload: nothing to set up

Sign in at Sign in on the device. You can bookmark the queue or add it to the home screen.

Sharing: install the web app

  1. Open Sealed Print in Chrome or Edge and sign in.
  2. Open the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
  3. Sealed Print now appears among your apps and in the share menu of other apps.

Every time

Upload a document

  1. Open the Queue and select Add document.
  2. Drop a file or select one.
  3. Under Destination, keep your default destination or choose another one. A destination chosen here takes precedence over your default destination; No destination – waits in the queue keeps the job in the queue until you route it.
  4. Optionally open Print options to set copies, two-sided printing, color and more, then select Print.

Share from another app

  1. In any app (files, photos, email, browser), choose Share and then Sealed Print.
  2. Sealed Print opens and confirms "Shared file received". The job follows your default routing.

Troubleshooting

  • "No supported file was shared": only PDF, JPEG and PNG can be printed. Save other documents as PDF first.
  • "Sharing to Sealed Print is switched off for this organization": an admin has switched off the inbound channel Share from your phone.
  • Sealed Print is missing in the share menu: check that the web app is installed (not just a bookmark) and that you use Chrome or Edge.
  • The document is larger than the plan allows: see Plans and billing.
