Everything Sealed Print does

Documents reach Sealed Print through inbound channels, wait in the queue and leave it through outbound channels. This page lists everything that works today.

Some features need a paid plan; the pricing page shows which.

Inbound channels

How documents reach Sealed Print.
Printer URLs
Every source gets a personal printer URL that Windows, macOS and Linux add as a network printer, without a driver. One URL routes automatically, one URL per destination prints straight to it.
Web upload
Drag PDFs and images into the web app and print them on the destination of your choice.
Sharing from the phone
Installed as an app, Sealed Print appears in the share menu of phones and tablets.
REST API
Submit documents from shop systems, ERPs and scripts with API tokens; the OpenAPI documentation is public.
Email to printer
Email addresses that print attachments and, on request, the email text; only members and allowed senders with a verified sender address may print. Team and Business.

Outbound channels

How documents leave Sealed Print.
Relay client
A small program for Windows, macOS, Linux or a NAS (Docker) shares local printers. It only connects outbound, updates itself and can serve several organizations.
INFRA printers
Printers with IPP INFRA support (PWG 5100.18) fetch their jobs directly from Sealed Print, without any extra software.
IPP push
Sealed Print sends jobs over IPP or IPPS to printers that are reachable on the internet. Team and Business.
Email destinations
A destination that sends the printed document as PDF to up to five fixed recipients, with delivery status. Team and Business.

Queue and routing

Every job stays visible from arrival to delivery.
Live queue
New jobs and status changes appear immediately, for every member of the organization.
Preview
Every document can be viewed before it is printed or routed again.
Automatic routing
Jobs go to the default destination of their sender, or wait in the queue until someone chooses a destination.
Delivery timeline
Each step is recorded: received by the relay client, in the computer's print queue, waiting for the printer, delivered.
Print again
Failed jobs stay in the queue and can be sent to another destination.

Print options

Jobs fit the printer they end up on.
Printer capabilities
Each destination knows the paper sizes, trays, duplex, color and finishing of its printer; its printer URL offers exactly these options in the print dialog.
Options per job
Copies, duplex, color, paper size and tray can be changed in the queue before a job is printed.
Adapted, not rejected
Options a printer cannot fulfil are adapted, for example two-sided to one-sided or A3 to A4, and the change is shown.

Teams and administration

For one person or a whole company.
Roles
Owners, admins and users: users see their own jobs and sources, admins manage the organization.
Own and shared destinations
Members can connect their own printers and share them with the organization; everyone can choose their personal default destination.
Several organizations
One account can belong to several organizations, for example a company and a club.
Five languages
The web app speaks English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Security and data protection

Built in Germany, hosted in Frankfurt am Main.
Encrypted
Every connection uses TLS. Printer URLs, API tokens and device passwords are stored as hashes or encrypted and can be revoked at any time.
Retention you choose
Documents are deleted after the retention period: 7 days on Free, up to 1 year on Team and up to 10 years on Business. Admins can delete finished jobs at any time.
Data processing agreement
Every organization gets a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR automatically.
No tracking
No analytics, no advertising cookies, no requests to third parties from the web app.
