Plans and data protection
Plans and billing
Choose a plan, follow your usage, manage payment details and invoices, and cancel.
Sealed Print has three plans: Free, Team and Business. Each includes a number of members, deliveries per month and a maximum document size; Team and Business add features such as email, IPP push, destination groups and electronic signatures. On Free, email and signatures are available as pay per use. The pricing page shows the current prices and what each plan includes. Payments and invoices are handled by Stripe.
Prerequisites
- Only owners can see and change the plan, the usage and the payment details.
- For a paid plan: your billing details (name or company, address, country and, for businesses in other EU countries, the VAT ID) and a payment method.
What the plans differ in
| Free | Team | Business | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Printer URLs, web upload, sharing, REST API, relay client, INFRA printers | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| IPP push | – | ✓ | ✓ |
| Email to printer, email destinations | pay per use | ✓ | ✓ |
| Electronic signatures | pay per use | ✓ | ✓ |
| Destination groups and several destinations per job | – | ✓ | ✓ |
| Deliveries beyond the included volume | wait until next month | billed per delivery | billed per delivery |
| Document retention | 7 days | up to 1 year | up to 100 years or unlimited |
A delivery is one job delivered to one destination: printing a job on two printers counts two deliveries.
One-time setup
- Go to Settings → Billing. You see the current plan, the usage of this period and all plans.
- Select Switch to Team or Switch to Business. The first time, enter your Billing details; the country and VAT ID decide the VAT and the currency (euros in the EU, US dollars elsewhere).
- Review the order summary, confirm the checkbox and select Order with obligation to pay. The change takes effect immediately; the current month is charged pro rata.
- If no payment method is stored yet, you add one at Stripe afterwards.
Every time
- Usage: Settings → Billing shows members, deliveries, emails and signatures of this period against what your plan includes.
- Payment and invoices opens the Stripe customer portal with your invoices and payment methods.
- Billing details changes the address or VAT ID shown on future invoices.
- Additional members: when all included seats are in use, inviting another member shows the price per month and asks an owner to confirm the order.
Pay per use on Free
With pay per use, Free organizations can use email to printer, email destinations and electronic signatures without upgrading. Nothing is included: every email and every signature is billed at the end of the month, at a price per use that is clearly higher than on Team. For regular use, Team is cheaper.
- Under Settings → Billing → Pay per use, select Turn on pay per use.
- Review the prices and the spending cap, confirm and select Order with obligation to pay. A payment method is required.
- Optionally change the Monthly spending cap and select Save cap. When the cap is reached, emails are rejected and new signature requests cannot be sent until next month or a higher cap.
Turn off stops email inbound, email destinations and new signature requests; signatures of requests already sent are still billed.
Change or cancel the plan
Select Switch to … for another plan. Switching to Free ends the paid plan at the end of the current period ("Ends on …, then Free applies"); until then Keep this plan undoes it. You can also cancel at any time on the public page Cancel contracts here, without signing in.
Troubleshooting
- "Your plan does not include this": the feature needs Team or Business. Upgrade under Settings → Billing.
- "Your plan offers this as pay per use": turn on pay per use under Settings → Billing, or upgrade.
- "This month's spending cap for pay per use is reached": raise the cap under Settings → Billing, or upgrade.
- "This month's delivery volume of your plan is used up": on Free, further jobs wait with "Needs destination" until next month or an upgrade; on paid plans further deliveries are billed.
- "The document is larger than your plan allows": the plan sets the maximum document size.
- "The last payment failed": update the payment method under Payment and invoices.
- "Billing is not configured on this server. No limits apply.": shown on test servers without billing.
