Branch offices

One queue for every location

Head office, branches, warehouse: Sealed Print connects printers in different networks and lets every location print to the right place.

The challenge

Printing between locations usually requires site-to-site VPNs, firewall rules and a print server in every network. Every new location adds work.

How Sealed Print solves it

A relay client at each location shares the local printers as destinations; printers with IPP INFRA support connect directly. Jobs from any source can be sent to any destination of the organization, and a fixed printer URL per destination prints straight to a specific location.

Setup

  1. 1

Install a relay client at every location, or connect INFRA printers directly.

  2. 2

Share the printers as destinations with clear names.

  3. 3

Hand out printer URLs: one that goes through the queue, and one per destination for direct printing.

What you get

No site-to-site VPN
All connections go outbound to Sealed Print and are encrypted with TLS.
Central overview
Admins see the jobs of all locations in one live queue.
Rerouting
If a printer is unavailable, a job can be sent to another destination.
Runs on a NAS
At locations without a computer that is always on, the relay client runs as a Docker container on a NAS.
